Belakor the First Daemon Princeby ~luffie

First submitted work for 2013? Hmm... gruesome! This fun painting started from looking at a picture of "Wrath of Titans'" miinotaur, I thought the pose was a cool pose for a monster, and then I thought of Games Workshops' Belakor and something clicked in my mind.

There was no sketch, I paint it straight in photoshop and the design consist of mostly trial and error on the fly. The spirits were added last minute on the fly too as the bottom part felt a little empty for me. I wanted to add some more monstrous details but decided to leave it as it is as I didn't want to go overboard with the details, this was more akin to a sketch than a serious painting.

My goodness, you are a fantastic designer. I can't believe I haven't seen your work sooner.

I love the way this guy looks with all the horns and spikey things emanating from his body. The colors are perfect for the setting, and would make this guy seem horrific to meet if he became real. ._.
